Working with first responders throughout Washington, Alaska,
Montana and Idaho, we transport critically ill and injured patients to the
best care for their medical condition, whether local hospitals, regional
trauma centers or specialty care.
Provide oversight and direction of Education Department for Airlift Northwest.
Global view of educational needs working closely with current nurse educators and in conjunction with the Medical Directors to ensure safe, quality care given to patients and meet the ever-changing environment of medicine and specifically air medical care.
Development of education and research opportunities as it relates to Air Medical. We are a unique entity within the university system. We have the opportunity to be the leaders in this industry as related to research and publishing. This position will also allow us to extend our reach of education to pre-hospital providers and smaller rural facilities.
Establish and maintain the educational format and needs of the clinical staff of Airlift Northwest in conjunction with the Medical directors.
Will establish course of education as needed based on quality evaluation and outcomes done through chart review, GAMUT reporting and national accrediting agency requirements, partnering with Chief Flight nurse and Medical Directors for clinical policies.
Establishment of education department budget annually.
Establish competencies for new equipment and clinical policies. Recommend remedial action to managers for employees not able to demonstrate meeting competencies. Co-chair of clinical practice committee
Oversight of nursing research and assist with joint research with UW Medicine that Airlift Northwest participates in. Assures meeting the enrollment guidelines of studies.
Conduct or coordinate clinical staff meetings.
Oversight of ALS courses, and other clinically pertinent training.
Oversight of training and certification records necessary for accreditation.
Participation in interviewing of flight staff.
Share information with base managers as related to annual evaluations and competencies.
Lead and oversight on CAMTS recertification process.
Oversight of current part time nurse educators, including assignment of duties, and annual evaluations, hiring and training of new educators as needed.
Washington State RN License
Min. 6 years experience as a clinical care nurse.
Demonstrated ability to organize and teach educational offerings.
