The Registered Transport Respiratory Therapist provides patient care in a mobile environment to high risk patients and their families being transported to/from the McLane Children’s Hospital at Scott and White.
The Registered Transport Respiratory Therapist acts as a resource hospital wide for patient care standards Registered Transport Respiratory Therapist assists in establishing and maintaining a high quality standard of care for the neonatal and pediatric transport population. The Registered Transport Respiratory Therapist is responsible for organizing, implementing, and coordinating patient care as directed by the Physician for the purpose of stabilization of the transfer to a tertiary or Special Care Center.
The Registered Transport Respiratory Therapist is responsible for participating in the care of NICU, ED and PICU patients and in the direction and guidance of other RT and nursing staff members. The Registered Transport Respiratory Therapist maintains department responsibilities by attending educational offerings, staff meetings, departmental and hospital interdisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and recurrency training. The Registered Transport Respiratory Therapist assists in the development and validation of patient care standards for the transport patient population.
The ideal candidate for the Registered Transport Respiratory Therapist role will maintain and demonstrates the ability to rotate shifts and/or work flexible hours to meet patient care needs. The ideal candidate for the Registered Transport Respiratory Therapist role will also demonstrate analytical skills necessary to resolve complex patient problems in a mobile environment, develop standards of care and procedures, and evaluate the quality of respiratory care.

Qualifications * Associate’s Degree or equivalent
* 2+ years experience, 3 years preferred
* Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified or within 6 months of hire
* Respiratory Care Practitioner Certified
Candidates must have Pediatric experience
